There's some kind of consensus that the manga is bad? It comes as a news to me, personally I liked it so far.

It's okay in my books (and I gather in books of many other ones too) but it's nowhere as brilliant as the original work.

Lately Rebuild bashing has clouded what used to be nigh-religious manga/Sadamoto bashing

Yeah, the new frontier of trolling...
I can agree that it wasn't as good as the anime but it has its good points (and the bad points aren't so terrible).

None of us hardcore fans has a rational relationship to the original NGE in the slightest - hence such emotional outbursts were pretty much inevitable.

Yet they're unjustifiable, we don't even have the complete work but people is already attacking it; NGE was overall good but not every single episode was by itself outstanding. We should wait before making final statements about how badly Asuka's demise was handled or anything else. I used to dislike the first movie (because it was little more of a mere retelling) but now that I'm connecting it with the second my impression has been largely changed.

Actually, the majority of Eva fans aren't too fond of Death & Rebirth either.

Eva Manga Spoiler  SPOILER: Show
Gendo with an AT Field pretty much ruined the manga for me. But I do plan on reading the entire thing when I get the chance.

This is true, however sometimes art is only art when seen from a certain perspective. Also: "less is more." It really all depends on the context. In Eva's case, there's been very few adaptations/doujinshi/etc that have come close to the original in my eyes.

This is pretty much my stance on this new Gunbuster manga (and probably most remakes/adaptations/sequels of brilliant media); when you take a perfect good story and try to flesh it out it tends to not hold together as well as the original. That, and the story becomes somewhat convoluted.

I will give the manga a chance, but as of now I remain skeptical of it's quality.

I dunno if I putted it clearly but I was referring to Jo and Ha respectively; by looking back at Jo now I can note the little hints of what was going to happen in Ha.

It was somehow exaggerated even though it's not impossible that having Adam in his body gave him those powers.
Actually I'm not disliking it at all because Shinji isn't depressed as much as in EoE, his action (and the final) could differ sensibly (or at least I hope so).
But this is more relevant to the thread about the manga's ending.
Thread: I'm not sure that it's going to be good merely because I don't know the author and how good he is but I'd like to read this manga (if it's published here in the "west side of the world" or translated by someone).

So what's this Gunbuster thing I keep hearing about?

He shuddered a bit, remembering the somewhat creepy level of detail Kaji had gone into, while rubbing a watermelon in a disturbingly sexual way.

^ Failing to detect sarcasm. Yet again.
"I'd really like to have as much money as you have, Oz" - robersora
"No you wouldn't. Oz's secret is he goes without food to buy that stuff. He hasn't eaten in years." - Brikhaus

"Often I get the feeling that deep down, your little girl is struggling with your embrace of filmfaggotry and your loldeep fixations, and the conflict that arises from such a contradiction is embodied pretty well in Kureha's character. But obviously it's not any sort of internal conflict that makes the analogy work. It's the pigtails." - Merridian
"Oh, Oz, I fear I'm losing my filmfag to the depths of Japanese pop. If only there were more films with Japanese girls in glow-in-the-dark costumes you'd be the David Bordwell of that genre." - Jimbo
"Oz, I think we need to stage an intervention and force you to watch some movies that aren't made in Japan." - Trajan

Anyway an user from the ANN forum (DrizzlingEnthalpy) mentioned something about expanded elements from the PS2 game, does anyone know anything about it? I don't own a PS2 and I've never played that game.

Sarcasm is “a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter jibe or taunt.” Some authorities sharply distinguish sarcasm from irony, however others argue that sarcasm may or often does involve irony.

I can't find this manga anywhere. Anyways did the Gunbuster manga finish or is it still ongoing. If it's finished then can someone tell me how many volumes it is? If it's not finished then does the manga correlate to the story of the OVA? THANKS :D

I've never seen what this manga looks like, but I must admit that the idea of releasing anything related to Gunbuster without incorporating the distinctive character designs of the legendary Haruhiko Mikimoto, just strikes me as wrong.

I wonder why we haven't heard any more from this?

I absolutely loved Gunbuster, so a manga adaptation would interest me.

The art style does look odd. Not bad, but a bit too 2000s. I prefer 80s Noriko.

Well it did come out, if that's what you mean: looks like you could probably get the whole thing (to date?) for like $30 plus shipping
