Sometimes, but in this case, it's entirely relevant. A lot of people working in the same capacities, and Nadia is like proto-Eva. I would not mind having this in my collection.

Does anyone know if Nadia was shot on 16mm or 35mm?

Looking at those screenshots, I would agree that it was 35mm.

Such a shame Eva didn't get that treatment.

Was gonna edit this comparison into the last post but meh

16mm still benefits plenty from glorious 1080p. Soft an noisy, but still so much better than SD because of the extra resolution and modern codecs.

Still, Eva TV will no doubt benefit from a proper HD Remaster. Renewal is obsolete and they shouldn't try to shove a decade old DVD Remaster onto BDs, even if they did scan it in HD supposedly. Technology has improved significantly since then and there should be a new effort.

I dunno, I know plenty of people who have already bought it several times over. Is it really worth it?

I really just want a nice blu-ray of The End of Evangelion.

Given how Renewal wasn't as good as it could have been even by DVD standards, a proper BD remaster is going to be damn well worth it.

For me personally it will likely be the first time I buy the series completely, if they don't screw it up that is. I started buying Platinum when individual volumes were coming out but never bought all of them and sold of the ones I had when the DVD era ended.

Will definitely be picking this up at some point, the cover art is to die for.

NGE on BD is just a matter of time.

I don't think it'll matter cause NGE was shot on 16 MM film, which I don't think can really get any better than what we have with the Platium remasters.

EOE BD on the other hand.....I want that shit YESTERDAY.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

That's what I'm thinking. It might look a little bit better, a little bit more resolution, a little bit better from upscaling, and a bit better from encode rates... but not enough to justify buying it again.

I got it on blu. It actually looks pretty great. Granted, I've only spot-checked it, I haven't watched the whole thing, and I haven't looked at the island episodes. So far, it seems like a worthy upgrade from the DVDs.
