What about the fan service ? I was promised fan service, but so far i saw no one comenting on this, is there a strip scene with Misato like sadamoto artwork ?
Or does it only refer to naked Rei (booo) and kaworu and Shinji (that aioyo yo gay thing) ?

First, ppl complain about too much fanservice, and now it's too little, apparently. You still get plenty of girls wearing nothing other than plugsuits

All the "homo homo" vibes Kaworu and Shinji emit in film can and do count as fujoshi fanservice as they tend to gravitate towards subtext anyway. Bits about girls giggling at parts of movie because of that would certainly seem to count as evidence. In other words

In other words....no nips to be found in the entire film.
Thats pretty amazing considering this is Eva we're talking about. Nips and bouncing bossoms are exactly what we are usually given. No ass shots even? Then again this movie is heading into more serious territory and after episode 19 in NGE there really was little no fanservice from what I could remember.

there's a pretty decent amount of jiggle in the first scene alone so I wouldn't get excessively distraught over Anno having turned into a srs bzns prude or anything

Well I guess. I did find it sexy watching Asuka take in deep breaths, watching her body rise up and down after successfully stopping Unit 01 from falling out of orbit with her booster rockets.
I guess I should feel like a failure as male because it didn't feel sexy to me at all - and that breathing part has been what both 4chan and 2ch seemed to clamor over the moment preview came out

I didn't think of the scene as a fan service, but now I remember -- yep that was sexy.
(IMO there's no other reason to show Asuka in such a close up in such a form-fitting outfit.)

On a related note, in the six minute preview it feels as if some frames were cut from it, if only because the 'remove my helmet and jump' bit felt longer in the trailers.

it's not that I don't see where people are coming from with this, it's just that it never really jumped out at me like that in preview and I find it impossible call to make if it's intentional fanservice or just attractive female character positioned in a way that probably just gets to male instincts anyway.
