Not when it's simply my own personal opinion. When I start trying to force others to see things my way or exclude them based on their personal interpretation differing from mine then you can start leveling as many charges of elitism at me as you wish.

You're not obliged to like them but some respect for other's opinions would be nice, I know that it's become completely optional on the internet but I think that it's still the sine qua non condition to discuss civilly about any topic.

Never said they had to change on my account, only that I wish people would take a closer look at the character as a whole and not just focus in on certain areas. And last time I checked, as you just helpfully pointed out, voicing an opinion isn't a crime.

Stuff that she should just discard imo, anyway we can't really exclude that this stuff will somehow return, if we're still referring to NME. Anyway I don't understand if you're just mentally erasing the other aspects of Rei, directly and indirectly related to her smiles and human nature in general that were (somehow vaguely) already implied in NGE.

Huh? You have that backwards -- because the characters have normal hair and builds, and because the Nerv uniforms are pretty much standard military fare, it's actually one of the easier shows to cosplay. Things do look a bit silly if you're trying for Misato or Rei (mostly because Misato's jacket looks terribly dated these days and Rei's hair is what it is), and people tend to get stupid when they're doing Asuka, but we've seen some really good Eva cosplays in the pictures thread and whatnot. And of course, as noted upthread Jersey makes an awesome Asuka.

now that I think about it, put hayley williams in a plugsuit and she would make a good Asuka

Most of the girls in this thread are pretty hot, so I don't know why you are all complaining. The fact that attractive girls want to cosplay as anime characters makes them even more appealing.

I concur with BrikHaus. These girls are quite sexy themselves. Now they're cosplaying as the anime girl you all drool over and love? Forget it!
