Evangelion PC games

Hey guys! I'd like to know more Eva PC games, whether they are simple Flash games, doujin games, console games played via emulator, the original PC games, etc. What are available right now, translated to English, or just in Japanese but are still enjoyable to play?

I'm actually leaning to finding out more about the Evangelion 2 PS2/PSP game and if a PC copy of it exists right now. If so, what are your experiences with it and where can I get the best copy lol? A quick Google search says that it exists, but I'm totally clueless when it comes to looking for and playing PC games and have no idea where to start. I just like RPG games more and Eva 2 seemed up my alley.

Give me all you got though! I'm just really bored at the moment and want to delve into something Eva-related.

There isn't a single Evangelion game that has gotten an English release. Girlfriend of Steel has an English fan-translation though.

Awww man, that sucks. I'm guessing none of the other games have fan-translations either?

Why must it be so hard to find translated Eva material WHYYYY

This needs thorough investigation. Gendo as a smiley

No, as far as I know, GOS is the only one to receive an English translation.

Basically, it's a numbers game. Evangelion video games do not appeal to mainstream gamers AT ALL, and the number of Evangelion fans who are gamers, who would play an Evangelion video game are not numerous enough to merit license and distribution. It's not like Dragon Ball Z fighting games where it's much easier to localize, because there's much less translation, and the games appeal to a broader fighting game market. There are plenty of people who are not fans of DBZ, Naruto, or Gundam who would play games based on them, because they have more appeal, and they also make better games.

Also, Evangelion games are kind of "meh" from what I've heard. They're not as good as you would think they would be.

I wouldn't think of them as games, but rather just extra content, sort of the same category as all of those SW or ST novels you see spun off.

None of the GAINAX game releases would even quality as a decent RPG or action game by today's standards, but in general serious gamers aren't buying them. The audience for these are specifically EVA fans in Japan who just want to have more EVA, and don't care if it's canonical or not.

I played both GOS 1 & 2 and they're basically just visual novels. GOS 1 is significant in that it's done by the same production team as the original series with story by Anno himself, and as a result it looks like the original series much more in terms of character designs and imagery compared to the rest of the games. There's practically no decision making in the game except at one critical point. Because the story is so sentimental the game has a strong following among EVA fans in Japan.

GOS2 was a bit more interesting as you get to do more in the game, but the real appeal of it was the shipping you can do: S/A, S/R or even a bit of S/K (which made my daughter happy to no end). GOS2 is basically Episode 26 done as a game, but again has a strong following in Japan and has spawned all sort of manga and stuff. It's interesting for it's content, but not for its gameplay.

Could somebody possibly find or make a English translation of "Stripping Instrumentality Project" please? Ignore the naked parts I would honestly just like a translation of the comic panels with Gunbuster and Eva really.

Link to pornographic materials removed, PM Great Genius Shinji-Sama for link

I'm sure I've mentioned this in anouther thread, but I think EVA would make a fantastic MMOFPS. Core it up on the Quake engine and painted by Weta Workshop, it would have a home in the west.

Um, yes, 'I've certainly seemed to taken to piloting'... I suppose that character trait in Shinji lives on in me too, I'm just a touch more enthusiastic about it
