We try to talk to the penguin, but he's resting in his room.
So, we head over to Nerv and properly introduce ourselves to Ritsuko-san. And something we said once we chat with her got her all blushy. Not creepy at all!
Apparently we become thirsty so on our way to get some juice, Maya introduces herself. STOP COCKBLOCKING THE VENDING MACHINES!
Okay, introductions out of the way, we quench our thirst.

We idly chit-chat with Gendo then talk excitedly, he gets annoyed at us. Getting annoyed in reply results in him amused! (He pushes his glasses up his nose and says "fu...")
We go to the toilet because all that juice messed with our bladder than save our game on the off-chance the emulator decides to crap out on us.
I'd say go chat it up with Aoba if possible or maybe school.

I agree, go with Aoba. also, do you have the game on actual PSP? I know of a way to prevent the issue of crashing and still get great screenshots, try using remotejoylite instead of JPCSP (if the first page is correct, sorry if I misunderstood and you are doing the PS2 version). I know about it because I use it for all my PSP titles (vision impaired, screen too small).

I have the PSP version but I'm emulating my PS2 version. But thanks for the tip.
Sort of trying to get to the next day since we've been stuck on this particular day for awhile now. A lot more game to cover than that!

We walk on over to Aoba but Ritsuko stops us and asks about our mood. Apparently we're feeling normal. That can't be a bad thing considering the eventual angst and trauma that will head our way. _
Before we can manage to talk to Aoba, Ritsuko smiles at us. We smile back, but then she walks up to us. Monkey see, monkey do. We approach Ritsuko, but then she backs the fuck up (I guess Ritsuko suddenly remembered that she likes her Ikari men on the older but not necessarily wiser side) and babbles that she has a work idea so she has to run. Welp.
We leave Nerv and head on over to the convenience store (tamago kudasai~) but check our stats and remember we don't have much in the way of money.
Being Shinji is suffering.
It's only 17:40 (5:40) PM but certainly feels later than that.
Returning to Misato's apartment, we finally talk to the penguin! He warks a hello and we offer to be friends with him. ^^
We decide to take care of Pen Pen (by babbling that he has to be careful in the bathtub) but he looks away. This pisses Shinji off slightly. "Damn, it's alright if you don't push yourself..."
We help ourselves to dinner then watch some TV.

We go to bed then get a call sometime after 8AM the next morning to head off to Nerv. Adventure!
Misato tells us they did some kind of Angel analysis (on Sachiel apparently) for the sake of simulation training.
Guess who gets to test the simulation out? =D
Poor bastard.
Misato explains how impressive it was that Shinji's Eva won against the Angel but Shinji mentions he had no idea what he was doing. Misato says that may be the case, but we never know when the Angels will next attack so we have to stay prepared.
Translation: Misato needs us to train like hell so we will be prepared.
Shinji seems okay with the simulation idea, but Misato reminds the kid to HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF and remember that the staff will be supporting him.
A dejected "I understand..." He's not too thrilled. Of course. Misato grins in reply ( ) and says "Let's begin training." Shinji: "Yes. Then, I'll go get changed. "
Misato explains the ins and outs of piloting the Eva in Tokyo-3 to prevent the Angels from reaching Nerv headquarters. "If an Angel reaches Nerv Headquarters, it's JI ENDO." If only she already knew about why the Angels shouldn't reach it... She then cheerfully reminds us if our Eva no longer works/moves, it's also the end.
After explaining more about battle mechanics, we get a chance to show our stuff.
Training time!
"I defeated it! Misato-san, I defeated it!" A good thing too, our internal battery only had less than a minute left!
Misato said we did good and we should rest for the reminder of the day. And not forget whatever we learned today, of course.

Where shall we go in Chapter 03? We should meet a certain blue-haired Eva pilot then...
