Actually, the zombie apocalypse was a suggestion apparently. More like werewolves than zombies, but close enough, feral people with "mental contamination."
And a zombie apocalypse would really fit into the Eva world. An Iruel-like Angel infects a large swatch of Tokyo-3... actually, Iruel could probably pull it off itself. The Children sneak through the city, making their way to Nerv HQ. VTOLs fly over the city, looking for them and offering air support. Misato disobeys orders and tries to meet them on foot. Rei is fighting her own infection. And once they get to Central Dogma, Gendo orders them to go to the surface and fight the infected with giant flamethrowers.
Based on how much they love to milk this franchise, I wouldn't be surprised...

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Campus Apocalypse they should make a spin-off of the manga and turn it into a 5-star Anime, it should have either the same storyline as the manga or a different storyline. They should get either Sadamoto to Design the Characters for the Anime or the Guy who design the characters of the Manga and get either Madhouse or Studio Khara or Gainax to Animate the Anime. I would love to see that they would make it look like death note meets Harry potter and it would be epic. and now that FUNimation owns the rights to the show here is who should dub the show,

It's a series about a girl who has no mother and acts as one to her younger sisters. She's the head of her class and acts strict, but secretly pines for a cute boy named Touji. Meanwhile, she helps her best friend Asuka deal with the difficulties of being an Eva pilot.
So yeah, it's basically the events of the original series seen from the perspective of Hikari.
Also, Neon Kensuke Evangelion, about a geeky boy who "trains" himself to one day pilot Eva.
