Reminds me of Eva?

-My mum (Her name's Eva)
-Any mention of Angels in any context whatsoever
-Half of the songs I listen to

For the record: I didn't know tang either. (grew up in Austria, currently living in Germany)

I think what changed MOST is the sound of cicadas. Totally NGE, what has been heard can't be unheard!
A lot of "urban decay" stuff: overhead cables, concrete buildings, skyscrapers with loads of apartments, subway stations, huge lettering on urban walls, ...
And so much surreal stuff: water reflections, the sound of waterdrops, the sound when your head is under water, lying on the balkony whilst starring at the sky and listening to the quiet sound of a far away tv/radio/whatever

You know those sex ed classes where you have to carry around a doll for a day and be its parent and take care of it?

Yeah, those. I should invite all those students to my house for an Eva marathon, because I'm terrible.

Cicadas have changed for me too, and so have the sounds of drops of water, just still, calm water in general. The moon has been very symbolic of eva to me as well.
There is a girl in my Biology class, her name is ava, it is pronounced the way we Evangelion fans say 'eva.' It is irritating when the teacher is calling the absence list, and I hear her name. My head always snaps up, like someone is talking about Evangelion.

The times when it's evening or nighttime and your house (or whatever building you're in) has only half the lights on, creating an overbearing contrast between say, a bright room and a dark hallway.

uhmmm....everytime I go to the pool, I just remember that episode where Rei is swimming while Shinji is studying Physics.
Oh, of course, "Bohemian Rhapsody" will always remind me of NGE because of 2 great AMV's made with the song.

I had coffee with a girl that reminds me a lot of Rei the other day.

Needless to say, we didn't talk much...

I study space exploration and astro physics quite often and a few parallels can be found there. The CERN particle accelerator for example.

One of my high school friends was identical to Shinji.

I mean; he looked like him, and his personality was exactly the same. I eventually joked about it once when he came into a room we hang out in, complaining about how much he sucked. I told him to go pilot Eva Unit-01. The Otaku at the table spat out laughing. going 'good one. I see it now!'

He's half gotten over his emo problems since. I had some too, of a slightly different nature, which have been put in perspective and dealt with to a satisfactory degree.

I also got him into Eva recently. The first thing he told me after watching a few episodes was that the main character mysteriously reminded him of himself. Then I reminded him of the old joke I had made in high school, and he went. Oh; so that's what that was about.

Also, my sister looked like Asuka. Except their personalities aren't similar, and from mid-teens onward, she wears her hair back and glasses so the resemblance isn't obvious.

I found out my classmate's father is half Japanese and half German. It took me completely by surprise that she was a quarter Japanese, despite her almond-shaped eyes, and reminded me of how I wasn't sure whether or not Asuka would look at all Japanese in live action. I guess a quarter of whatever ethnicity can be completely missable.

In this class we learned about the Incident Command System, basically an organizational structure to be used in any disaster. You've got an Incident Commander, then a bunch of Sections led by Chiefs, the most important being the Operations Section, and then those are divided into Branches, Groups, Divisions. It was boring, but it made me think of Nerv's organization structure, with Commander Ikari, Chief of Tactical Operations Katsuragi, and all the different Branches of Nerv that you don't bother to keep track of.

I wonder if anybody's written down Nerv's entire organizational structure, as gleaned from the TV show? I know there's one in the Proposal, but for the TV show?

For some reason, some metal music, like Slayer, reminds me of Eva.

And I never listened to Fightstar ever.

I sort of look like a white Shinji. Probably part of the reason I can identify him and appreciate his character (not to sound vain, since there are plenty of other reasons).

Bitch, I look like Shinji.

One of my old classmates was half Chinese and half middle-eastern, and I thought she was Caucasian at first.

For sure, Asuka would be played by a Caucasian actor. When it comes to quarters, the asian features in a person would take a more subtle role.

Every time I light up Flight Simulator to test a new aircraft or do a long distance flight, I cannot resist the urge to try landing it on the shoreline at Ashinoko. What strikes me to this day is how small that caldera really is.

Oh, and let's add swing sets, tall scaffolding, sandboxes and stage lights.

I forgot to mention that my Girlfriend has a Japanese foreign exchange student at her house. She just so happens to look a lot like Mari, glasses included.
