I'm looking forward to finding out who's gonna voice the main leads.
Rumor has it that the seiyuu for the 4 main characters are:
Akira Tsubaki to be voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto
Mikoto Urabe to be voiced by Chiaki Omigawa
Ayuko Oka to be voiced by Aoi Yuuki
Kouhei Ueno to be voiced by Takuma Terajima

This week's news:
- As some noted in "Star Driver" thread,
Star Driver 輝きのタクト will have a movie.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... -the-works- Uniquely popular fan-service + serious scifi drama anime
Sora no Otoshimono そらのおとしもの is getting a 3rd season, after sucess of the 2nd season and the movie last year.

Blue Exorcist 青の祓魔師 is not just getting a movie adaptation, but a stage-play adaptation as well:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interes ... ay-in-2012- The intensely fan-service indulgent manga
Asa made jugyou chu! 朝まで授業chu! [teaching (kiss) until dawn] will have an OVA made but will only be available as a bundle to a new volume of manga to be published later this year.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... aff-listed- Light novel
Hagure Yuusha no Estetica はぐれ勇者の鬼畜美学, a story about characters travelling between modern world and a fantasy world, will have an anime adaptation:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... t-tv-anime- The still ongoing idol anime for primary school girls (and the big guys)
Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream プリティーリズム will end at the end of March one year after it started broadcast, and it will be succeeded by its sequel
Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future in April. The story is set 3 years after the end of the first season with the targeted demography also shifted by 3 years to Grade 5-7. Pretty Rhythm is unique in the sense that every episode of the anime is always accompanied with footages of real-life kids doing idol things and real-life campaign events that focus not only on toys or accessories but also on fashion, dressing up and dances/singing as well. The 3 real-life kids from the 1st season will form a unit called Prizmmy and will debut with their own single, while their anime avatars will also go through training and striving for releasing their own single. The groundbreaking thing that happens in the 2nd season is there will be a unit from Korea (with equivalent real-life Korean idol unit) coming to Japan and study with Prizmmy. It is also hinted that the stage of the anime will move to Korea at certain point. Of course it is easy to deduce that Takara Tomy has its sight set on the Korean market as well, though reactions from 2ch show that most of the adult fans also possess a certain streak of nationalism against Koreans "intruding" on the ground of "their" anime. Kind of sad this is.

Amazon JP anime BD sales ranking for the past weekend:
Observations:
- Finally Nisemonogatari has to let go of its No.1 place. MS Gundam UC vol.5 is a super-strong contender for No.1 place, and the latest Utano Prince-sama (vol.6) also shows how popular this anime is (mainly among female otaku to be sure).
- Two BD Box debuted at high places: Durarara at No.5 and Kannagi at No.9
It is clear that many still have fond memory of Kannagi -- perhaps that explains why Yamakan is still around in the anime circle?
- For "gdgd Fairies", all 3 volumes currently available for sale or pre-sale ordering are in top 40. For an anime that had only restricted distribution (only on Nico Douga and the Tokyo/Kanto region TV network), it is quite an achievement.
- For this season's anime, the positioning has slightly changed. The most popular, after Nisemonogatari, is now Ano Natsu, followed by Aquarion EVOL, Natsume Yujincho 4th season, Rinne no Lagrange, and beyond top 40, we have Highschool DxD, Amagami SS+ and Inu x Boku SS. Trailing further behind are Moretsu Space Pirates and PapaKiki.
- The seiyuu live event of Tiger & Bunny, "Tiger & Bunny Hero Awards 2011" also showed up in the list at No.34.

One thing to note is that for some anime that is definitely not going well in terms of sales forecast, their music CDs are selling quite well. While "Kill Me Baby" is not generating too much interest but its OP and ED leave a deep impression among anime fans (I also wrote about it
here). The single with the OP/ED debuted at the Oricon weekly chart at no.13, much better than many expected. And then there is the Macross mix with Blood-C sing-and-fight-and-die-all-at-the-same-time anime "Symphogear" - the first single from the anime (there will be a couple) even debuted at no.6 last week. With a later single featuring Nana Mizuki, one could only expect an even stronger sales figure coming in, and it will be regardless of how well/badly the anime does.

Just a last short note. I wrote a wrap-up account of how well anime from the last 2 seasons (fall and summer 2011) performed in terms of sales. Check the following if you are interested:
