Are there any out there? Why is it considered to be so difficult to create good new characters for Eva fics? I never understood that. I also don't get why the fic the Gospel of Malachel was considered to be a rip-off of EVA-R by some people just because the premise was about a new pilot added in, with the difference occuring in the later episodes (but obviously before the end).

Maybe it's because the characters are generally so screwed up that anyone new seems too Mary Sueish in comparison.

Depends what you mean by 6th Child. Do you mean continuation/post episode 24 new pilots or just extra Children in general?

I think the idea of Hikari being the 6th (of the) CHILDREN makes more sense than a brand new character considering she was a member of Shinji's class, and as we all know, Shinji's class were all A level candidates...
