Oh Oh! Be prepared to be razzed by the Gundam fanatics. That's Char Aznable.
Rejoice, glory is ours. Our young men have not died in vain. Their graves need no flowers. The tapes have recorded their names.
I am all there is.
Negative! Primative! Limited! I let you live.
But I gave you life.
What else could you do?
To do what was right.
I'm perfect, are you?

People always ask me if I know Tyler Durtin..
"I say Evamonkey did it himself. After seeing that Titus had more Eva images than him, he was driven into a fit of jealousy that led him to set this up in the hope of infecting everyone with a trojan that automatically rooted through their harddrives and sending him any images he didnt already have." - Space Penis
"some of the most intelligent people I know are complete fuck ups, and some of the less intelligent ones are incredibly interesting and promising." - The Eva Monkey
"Titus I love you!" - Zugzwang
"TITUS + ADSL = Disaster" - Timesplitter 01

Ooh, ooh, no more buttered scones for me, mater, I'm off to play the grand piano. Pardon me while I fly my aeroplane, NOW GET ON THE TABLE!

I consider those five to be an entirely different sort of hero, but valuable never the less.

My favorite Monty Python line ever, from a sketch in which Graham Chapman plays a man who floats in midair and short-temperedly tries to teach Terry Jones how to fly.

"Look, you stupid bastard, I am not on a wire, I am flyin'!"

MaggotMaster's "An hero" idiocy brought it to mind because of another line from the same sketch:

"I'll show you whether I'm on a wire or not! Gimme the 'oop!"

"The what?"

"Oh, I don't suppose we know what an 'oop is! Suppose pater thought they were bleedin' common except on the bleedin' croquet lawn!"

"Oh, a
hoop!"

"Oh! An hoop! Oh I say, we are grand, aren't we?"

And on and on and on.

I swear by my pretty litle floral bonnet that I will end you.
Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes
You'll just have to claw your way through this disguise!

Are there any real heroes out there? Were there ever any? Well... probably, but there are so many self-serving, pretentious assholes out trying to spread their shit around, and humans are such complicated creatures, it's hard to tell who is / what actions are genuinely selfless, virtuous, and/or altruistic. I'd be really hesitant to call a real person a "hero" unless I felt secure enough about vis character.
Those who risked their lives to rescue people from the Twin Towers as they were burning come to mind the most quickly. Most of those emergency personal knew there was a good chance they could die trying to rescue the people trapped inside but they did it anyway. That is one of the many definitions of a hero to me
Plus I am cut a bit from the old timer’s cloth as I think my father is a hero because he raised me right and into something I can take pride in from time to time.
