I'm pretty sure that if it's a clean hit, no boxer can be held legally liable for any damage he inflicts on his opponent.

The same. But I bet that the guy was pretending. He was still conscious (as I saw), and he wasn't holding his hands on any particular place. Except he got a punch below the belt. But in that case he would have been rolling on the floor screaming.
