Hi there,

Does anyone know where I can purchase the Eva Manga series in the UK?

Is amazon.co.uk the best place? or are their alternatives?

Also, which is the best set to get; "Old Format", "New Format", or "Special Edition"???

You're in London, aren't you? I'd try the basement of Gosh!, opposite the British Museum.

Look for the 2nd edition - consistent size, unflipped, with all the special edition material, and the only format for vol9. Or amazon, and guess which volume they'll send you each time.

I tend to look around in Forbidden Planet and Travelling Man. They sometimes get random ones in, and they're pretty cheap.

Alternatively, if you don't mind ordering vias the almighty Intertron, www.up1.co.uk are very cheap and tend to deliver any manga by the next working day. Last time I checked they had all of the Eva manga up to Vol. 8. About £4 each after p&p.

That sucks!

Anyway, amazon.co.uk probably is one of the best places! I have ordered a lot of Eva stuff from there, and i can say that it's really a good deal!

Just spent the best part of a week waiting for my 'Next Day Delivery' of Angelic Days 1 & 2. Still waiting for my copy of the Eva-Prime vol.1 to arrive. Also of note, I did some work at the boarding school across the road from me, they've got students from all over the world, and I recently found a box load of abandoned Manga novels someone left there during the holidays. Unfortunately they were in Japanese and were Card Captor Sakura...

Thats because Viz don't sell their manga over here yet, Tokyopop are the only publishers to release manga over here.
I think.

The Cambridge branch of Borders has a few copies of the first edition NGE manga, gathering dust.

Also, on certain items they give you the special "Pay now, and we'll never ever send it you!" offer. Whether you want it or not.

I knew there was a special collectors edition....but why 2nd edition and how do we know?

But what's the difference between special and regular (details please)?

2nd edition has the white spine, and covers vols 1-9 (current); 1st had coloured spines and only ran 1-7. The old "special" edition had text appendices covering all sorts of essays and stuff, wich IIRC the base version didn't. Presumably only the types who were real broke bought that version, because it's now standard in 2nd.

Well for me, I just buy all the ones that were published in 2004...since it's the most recent for the older books I believe

Is it that hard to find in UK? And you got 3 formats? What are the difference?
