Thing is, the characters' heights are even more inconsistent than the Evangelions'.

So does anyone know the height of Shinji, Asuka, and Rei is? The wiki here tells us how tall Misato is, but that's just about it.

I assume they are somewhere between 165cm and 175cm.

MAL reports 5'1 for Asuka. 'Course, they're also apparently treating Soryu and Shikinami as the same character, and it's likely they got their height from the same source as the wiki (which lists Shikinami at 157 cm, or 61.811 inches, or 5'1).

On the other hand, there's this thread from 2003 which I found awhile back when I had the same question as you, and they give Soryu an approximate height of 4'10, Shinji of 4'9, and Rei of 4'7. Later on Reichu does her own calculations and comes out with 4'11 for Asuka, 4'10 for Shinji, and 4'8 for Rei.

That's all approximation, obviously. I'm pretty sure there's no official info or else I assume it'd be on the wiki. Personally I'm inclined to just assume their Rebuild counterparts are the same height as the originals, considering how small the difference on Asuka is between the approximation and Shikinami's official height.

I'm pretty sure there was a big wall mural to promote Q that had the entire Q cast on it so you could kind of tell how tall the pilots were compared to the adults (I hadn't realised how short they were until I saw that image). I can't find it now, though.

Yea, they're pretty short. You don't really notice it in the TV series, especially not when two of the children are next to each other alone. If I didn't know better I'd think they were adult sized.

Says the guy only 6 inches taller than Asuka. For once, I suppose, it's nice to be short. I'm not too big for mai waifu.

Just by going by this one picture I have, Mayumi is Touji's height. And while I'm at it, Mana is perhaps 146cm.

I can never find the relevant line-up pictures at times like these. Bust comparison charts for other series like Marimite any time; Eva character heights, a different story.

The average height for a 14 year old female is about 5'4. For a 14 year old male, it's similar (with a range of 4'7 to 6'1, so it's kind of all over the place). The pilots seem to fall into the low end of what could be considered normal, although not so low that they're freakish.

Girls, of course, are just fine if they end up short. It's actually kind of cute. But poor Shinji needs a growth spurt or two.

These are Japanese people we're talking about. Anno's about 6 foot (like Gendo) and is freakishly tall amongst his peers.

This unit is 5'10. That makes me as tall as bloody Kaji. I don't feel very tall, though.
