It was originally featured in the live-action Japanese film The Man Who Stole the Sun and also played in another one of Anno's TV animes if I'm not mistaken. It can be found on the first disc of the 2-Disc Soundtrack Album for Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance

Has anyone else noticed a possible Hans Zimmer influence? I watched the Pirates of Caribbean movies last week leading up to the new one, and noticed that parts of Sagisu's score could fit right in (particularly In My Spirit). If, in Q, Asuka is re-introduced like THIS:

... all you Rebuild-haters will have to declare it the best movie ever

Recent talk in that Tsubasa thread reminded me: I still want to hear a song in Rebuild (or on a soundtrack) sung by Ogata. She's a singer and a seiyuu damnit, make it happen, Khara!

If they ever actually use the opening theme, she would be my pick.

If Rebuild ever uses the Ode To Joy, I recommend the Klingon Choir version.

I remember a Zankoku na Tenshi no TEZE sang by Ogata, has she ever sung any other Evangelion related song?

I thought it best to post here than to create a new thread. I've been thinking of getting the 2.22 soundtrack, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. In this forum's humbe opinion, is it worth it?

As someone who's been collecting both movie and anime soundtracks since 1998, it's still worth it, as Sagisu took some of the best tracks of the TV show, along with ones from Karekano, and then gave them an aural, epic facelift.

Hi, I'm new here, so hopefully this hasn't been asked before. I've scanned 10 or so pages back but couldn't find an answer.

What's the name of the song which is played during the menu in the 2.22 DVD? It's not in the soundtrack at all.

I believe that would be Carnage. It was also played during Shinji's battle with the 10th angel. And according to this it is track #31

Thanks for the quick reply - it's not Carnage. I just realised what a poor question that was, as different DVDs would have a different song on the opening menu.

The menu song on my DVD is a very upbeat pop song with a cheerful 2/4 beat, sung by a female vocalist. I'll try to find a clip on Youtube or something - I don't really understand Japanese so I can't tell you the lyrics or anything..

It would help if you could either record or rip the song, usually menus are stored in the VIDEO_TS.VOB. Also, just out of curiosity, which release are you referring to?

Charsiupao: Is it any of these then?

Today is the Day for Goodbye

Please Give Me Wings

I'm assuming it's not the following, but just in case:

Komm Susser Tod (from End of Evangelion)

Everything You've Ever Dreamed (Unused song that could have gone in End of Evangelion).

Does anyone know on which CD I can find that song? My son and I love it, but the menu only plays a verse or so..
