So I can give up about the 2015 release date... probably I'll be really old when it'll come out.
So let’s make a wish.

Yep. Agreed on all counts!

Also, I agree with EvangelionOtaku's thoughts that an NME Eva2-style game having a post-3I option (whether the main cast ala PSP Eva2--and finally, Mari's time to shine!--or new game-character) would be awesome.

So many times as I played through Eva2 and got the Tokyo-3 [Sadamoto-manga style] ruins as Shinji/Misato/whomever else, I thought "If only there was a way to modify this so the lake was amber-colored and properly an ocean"... :sigh:

I'm probably weird for thinking an option like that (implemented as an Endless Scenario like the Another World PS2 Eva2 Scenario 06? But more sandbox in feel and more options available, damnit!) would be fun but oh well. It should be done. Even though post-3I there's no more Angels or Evas, focusing on the characters surviving and delving into the psychological elements could be very interesting, whether such would be about NGE or NME. It'd be nice to make a fan game of such, but research would be needed, especially with "what game genre". Visual Novel or RPG format or something else, as well as what game-creation engine to use...

Aren't you getting a bit ahead of things?

Y'know, I saw those in a Nico vid, but I haven't seen them in-game yet. Maybe I just haven't played enough...

"NGE2" is basically for sandboxing the Evangelion universe -- and since that more or less ceases to be, characters excepted, after 3I, it's a bit beyond the bounds of the game's concept. If they made a post-3I game at all, it should be a totally separate thing.

For some reason, I'm imagining a semi-overhead action-adventure-RPG game where you (Shinji by default) have to survive, bring Returners together, find your old friends, restore infrastructure, uncover some of Nerv and Eva's mysterious (after the fat), become a mature and competent adult who can love others, and... stuff.

You start off with Asuka as your companion, and she will leave, stay, or DIE depending on how you play. Most of the cast can eventually be discovered as you wander Japan. Getting a character to join your party unlocks their scenario. Some characters are essentially "secret" and only show up under very special circumstances, including Dr. Katsuragi and Kyoko. Extracanonical characters get cameos to fill out the roster of necessary NPCs -- Mari, Mana, Musashi, Keita, SIRP's bridge bunnies, Kyoya, etc. (though their roles are obviously adapted to the needs of the game).

Things are contrived so that Lilin are being steered toward rebuilding themselves and the world, and creating their new paradise. Rei lurks in the background and ensures that things go to plan. Attempting to play the game under "humans are scum" expectations typically ends in colorful game overs.

Wait... what was this thread about, again?

No way I'm tired of the "story heavy" Eva games personally, and what I mean is the 75% story and 25% lame ass game sequences type lol I mean I enjoyed a lot of them but I think they need to actually take some time and develope a more action type game not this half ass action type we're accustomed too that takes a back seat to a mostly story driven experience.I think a Zone of the Enders type Evangelion game would be awesome and would do wonders for the franchise game wise, plus get more people into eva old and new that normaly couldn't get into the other games.Just my opinion though, what other game types beside the story type does everyone else think evangelion would do good as?

^ That sounds amazing. I would like to see that as well but with the customization aspects of say an "Armored Core" game. Make it a separate mode kind of like a create your own story/ a mission mode; something that would accompany an actual story mode that follows the real story. If they did that they could attract the fans of "Armored Core" and the "Z.O.E" like games. Just a thought...

I'd like to see an EVA game that's not a boring dating sim, a carbon copy of the preexisting plot, or some pachinko BS. An EVA game that's actually a game! Maybe like an action RPG where you can enhance and customize your own EVA and duke it out with your friends in an arena, go on missions, or follow the story (which should be unique to the game). That's the perfect EVA game for me!
NGE was a damned good anime
EoE was an anime masterpiece
And Rebuild is nothing short of epic
Long live the EVAs!!

Sounds like an Evangelion version of the Mechwarrior games.

STARWARS= crap
How dare you compare that stuff to something godly like evangelion.

:fuyu_facepalm: :shinchair:

All those starwars games are also crap, they were soo desperate that they had to make a lego game for cash!

Yeah, because Neon genesis evangelion has NEVER,EVER been desperate for cash

that and they should make a eva fighting game
I will respect your opinion if you respect mine.

The only way to make a good Eva game without changing the plot would be to go full Shadow of the Colossus and have nothing but bosses. Crazy epic encounters with each angel and free exploration of Nerv HQ in between. I think Eva 64 did something like this?

No. It just didn't. Maybe it tried, but then it failed completely. It was just... horrible.

Yeah, too bad that was posted last year, and the guy who posted it hasn't been to the site in 6 months.

But, you know, I'm sure he felt the pwnage over the latent psychic link that all Geeks at the site share.

Besides, anyone who disses Lego Star Wars is quite clearly an insufferable twat, who has long since been dead inside and considering even Yahtzee managed to enjoy Lego Indy, that's saying something.

I hope necromancy is ok here. Got to googling, of course here I am. In the suggestions/wishes category, I've got a simple basis: Mega Man Legends. Secondly, any recent news on this topic?

There was never any news to begin with....... so no. Kinda don't see why not tho, you'd think that a new Eva game would be a sure money maker in Japan. No one wants to make one tho I guess.

Well by news I meant "new news" but couldn't find a non-dipshit way to ask that. Original news I meant in terms of "since/besides Jo", as the thread had started. My bust.
