I dun get it. Is he mistaking Rei for Yui?

Btw, everything you say here will be put in by Anno, because he's mean like that.

1) Excessive fanservice (we get it, ha ha, enough already)

2) More rushed and unfocused pacing

3) An overly tidy conclusion (Evangelion needs it some ambiguity!!)

Which one? Do you want less of the first or vice versa?

Based solely on Asuka's name change, I'm kind of worried that they might pull some Triple Goddess Power Activate thing. I don't know why that would bother me, but it would.

_you can't do anything, so don't even try
_get some help
_don't do what sonic does

More "Please Kill Me" is how I read it.

3) An overly tidy conclusion (Evangelion needs it some ambiguity!!)

I pray it isn't anything like the TV ending. The EoE ending was much better and I always digged the final Asuka and Shinji moments. EoE still got a bit silly for me though during the random 'scenes of symbolism' during instrumentality. I hope not to see any sand castle scenes or clips from real life Japan.

A suicide feul ending. We don't need another EoE.
NGE was a damned good anime
EoE was an anime masterpiece
And Rebuild is nothing short of epic
Long live the EVAs!!

EoE is actually pretty life-affirming - if you don't kill yourself in the middle of it, that is.

But nah, it shouldn't be like EoE because... If we wanted to see EoE again, we'd just watch EoE.
I hope it will be as awesome as EoE and EoTV, but different from both.
New stuff, give us new stuff. Old stuff only in subverted form. Except Kaworu, I want my Kaworu - but feel free to put him into new situations, or have other characters react differently to him.
Someone should tell Shinji to value Kaworu's sacrifice instead of disgracing/invalidating it with death seeker antics.

I have no idea what ending I want, but definitely not exactly like EoE or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (which is where it seems to lean towards).
Somewhere in between perhaps?

Oh, and please do not end off with "Rebuild is a sequel!" twist.

Just one thing.

Kaworu for more than 15 minutes.

Though I have accepted Kaworu is probably going to get as much screentime in the next film as Asuka got in 2.0

Deep nonsense. EoE is my favorite movie ever, but I want to see the Evas kick ass and win shit. I want a Gurren Lagann ending where things go back to normal, but with a heavy price. It can be kill em all, just take the apocalypse out.

Completely agree. I reeeeally don't want to sit through another few sepia-filled trips on the monorail.

...and I still like Shinji/Rei."

So the topic is stuff I DON´T want to see in 3.0/4.0?

Okay, here goes. Just a few off the top of my head:

Gendo, SEELE, or Yui survive. In any capacity whatsoever. They made their choices and messed around with the future of the human race quite enough for one lifetime, thank you very much. Time for them to exit, stage left; ASAP; for good; permanently. Misato's and Shinji's generations won't have any legitimate chance to finally get their respective shit together and move on if any of the old men/women are still around, getting in the way.

Rei sacrificed/merged with Lilith, Adam or any other Seed that just happens to be lying around.

Kaji killed by anybody. He's way too skilled of a triple agent to let some mere NERV/SEELE hack take him down.

Mari Illustrious Makinami revealing any further double-secret probationary, previously hidden, back-door Eva "modes". Once is more than enough. Please stop showing off.

Onanism - Depression and guilt seldom equate to horniness (please just take my word for it). Alright, let's move on.

MP Evas that have the ability to regenerate. That's complete BS. Asuka kicked all of their asses fair and square (until they decided to cheat, that is).

Shinji continuing to refer to Gendo as "Dad".

But what would Evangelion be without all that postmodern craziness?? Just another giant robot show, that's what! Okay, maybe not, but it wouldn't be Evangelion, that's for sure.

Also: Kaji is such a great character - and his relationship with Misato is so compelling - that I certainly wouldn't complain if he were to survive. However, I wouldn't want Anno and co. sparing him just to please the fans, either. I wouldn't want them to be doing anything just to please the fans, really. Even though they kind of already are.

And I will continue, to my dying breath, to defend the EoE hospital scene. It was brilliant. Even if I was too naive to get it the first time I saw it.

Send your complaints with Funimation's Rebuild dub scripting to John Burgmeier. No, seriously, do. I agree with you, Gendo ain't no one's "dad".

^This. Or rather no cheap happy ending.

Actually, I'd like to see the freakin' Ikaris reconciling.
Or, if he's completely beyond redemption, Gendo pulling a heroic sacrifice.
Because... EoE showed us the guy cared about Shinji, but Shinji never found out/ got to visibly react to it.
Okay, that was part of the "Critical Comunication Failure" premise, but... IOnce is enough.

I don't want to see Shinji or Rei in Q. :rei_blush: :shinji_boohoo:

... Oh, alright, that's not very likely. Scratch that then.

Actually I don't want to see nomad Gendo and Fuyu in the desert with donkeys. I hope that frame from the preview remains forever mystifying and unexplained.
