Aquarion Evol has been announced! According to the poster, someone that looks like Ranka and Sheryl appear (Xard, you paying attention?). Apollo and Toma are back and it looks like Solar Aquarion looks more winter-y.

Why do they keep announcing sequels to terrible shows nobody with taste gives a fuck about? Can't they announce something potentially awesome like Akagi 2: Electric Mahjongaloo?

Why do they keep announcing sequels to terrible shows nobody with taste gives a fuck about?

1. Aquarion is the most awesome anime there is ever.
2. I give a f**k.
3. Where else have a announced TV shows sequels let alone terrible ones?
Can't they announce something potentially awesome like Akagi 2: Electric Mahjongaloo?

Mahjong manga is very popular in Japan though. A few magazines even exclusively devote themselves to mahjong manga, but it is a whole different story when it comes to anime. TBH I am surprised by the amount of mahjong anime made.
I never thought I would come back to Evangelion after EoE,
But I discovered Re-Take (or it found me?) and
now here I am.

No word on if Kanno is doing the OST too but...keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, we of course have Kawamori directing this so chances are I more than get my fix of LOLKAWAMORI, the good and the bad kind. Fuck yeah.


but Mari Okada as writer of series composition instead of Ohnogi? Not sure if want, not sure if better or worse thing...


Well, I guess Aquarion EVOL's existence at least confirms that Kawamori has come up with some wacky animation techniques he wants to try out before Macross 30

Aquarion was pretty pringles, in a weird way. I remember watching it with my best bro not too long ago, and how we laughed like idiots when the one monster's heart exploded, and it's gooey remains looked a little too freudian.

IT'S... SO GOOD!
