Am I the only person who hated King Kong? You want an over-the-top Evangelion movie? Get Terry Gilliam.

Probably not. Now that I think of if, LotR wasn't that good, either.

The Monty Python guy? Brazil happened over twenty years ago...

Incidentally, "over-the-top" is precisely what I, in my give-a-shit days, was trying to avoid, though I'm not sure exactly what you mean by it.

_you can't do anything, so don't even try
_get some help
_don't do what sonic does

Yes, very good. Brazil was in 1985. However, Brothers Grimm was last year. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000416/

In over-the-top, I meant bombastic and imaginative and artistic.

Not really all that newsworthy, but since it involved directors I thought it should be posted here.

i do not think peter jackson is right. he's certainly talented. i'm not a huge fan of the lord of the rings, but i love his early movies like bad taste. that movie is hilarious. i honestly can't think of any big name director that would be good for the project.

Even though it is pretty old news

http://www.wetaworkshop.co.nz/projects/filmography/film/neon_genesis

That is the Weta Workshop, the New Zealand based firm that has helped Peter Jackson in almost all of his movies

(I think, I'm drunk right now, don't hold me to that)

I'm sorry, but if Peter Jackson makes the eva movie, and makes it anything like King Kong, i'll kill myself.

Seriously.

King Kong was sooo boring. I almost fell asleep. The fast scenes were too shakey and made me kind of sick to my stomach, and the slow scenes are so long and boring it made me want to cry.

Yeah, like in War of the Worlds.

Only worse. He would turn Eva into the story of scientology. Eva would be a clambake, and I would need to be put in a mental institution.
For those of you who don't know much about the wackiness that is Scientology...I present to you Operation Clambake!

Its really entertaining, and exposes the out and out fraud that scientology is.

Okay, since you missed the joke in my previous post:

War of the Worlds had Tom Cruise, a scientologist, in the main role. Yet, somehow, miraculously, the film was not warped to fit his religious agenda.

Just because an actor is part of a very very odd cult does not mean that any film he is part of will automatically become a mouthpiece for said religion.

EDIT: That was addressed to SEELE 08. BlueTree got in the way.

I would hate to see Peter Jackson dirrecting the Eva movie. LOTR was shit. And I'm not just saying this because he messed with the story, but because they really were crap. The only redeming quality they had was good music. As far as I'm concerned, all Jackson is good for is ruining stuff.
