Debate Topic(What is Love?)

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Heheh. Well, this topic was bumped when it died but I will let a moderator or admin deal with that.

Anyways in regard to me being a teenager, yes I am. I guess I do try to be what I am not. I mean is supose that online relationships are bad. I certainly don't disaprove of them because I would be a hypocrit to do so. I have no friends or anyone to become more than a friend off of it. However I do see how they fail to meet the standards of what love is.

Now, I am one of those wierd teenagers who stays up to midnight listening to music and thinking about my purpose and my relationship with those around me. Thus asking what is love. From my personal expieriences, I cannot say much about it so I guess in a sense I am seeking comfort in the ideals of others.

Wow, I just went complementation on you guys. Sorry.

But because the topic lives, might aswell through this foward, what do you believe love is?

Love is like a TV. You get turned on and used, but then quickly turned off.

Just kidding.

But really, love is not something that you can really describe since different people have different views on what it is.

What is Love? I'm listening to it right now.

I think that love is just love. You do not need to make love to love someone. Love is an emotion, a wave of chemicals that affect our thought patterns and how we work. Thus, love is nothing more than chemicals.

I don't know how to describe it, I had this whole elaborate explanation and it just died like, a minute ago. My mind isn't working normally anymore. I give up -_-

I can't explain it, I have a girlfriend, I love her. Simple enough. Don't try to complicate things that don't need to be.

It's all dependant.
If it's an unconditional love, almost impossible and almost possible at the same time for humans, it's not expensive at all.
If it's a love where you need to buy stuff to satisfy your person, it's a conditional love, in which there is no true bond between you and her, or vice versa.

I probably wouldn't classify that as love since most people would say that a real bond would have to form.

I would just probably call that a parasitic attachment.

Well, since somebody did the YTMND reference, I'll just say that love is like a video game. You play with it, fall in love with it, try to become an expert at it, get frustrated once in a while, master it, then throw it away and try another one. 8)

Love is the Reason, to put it short.

Heck, it even says in the Bible (in an often neglected chapter) that Love is the greatest power of the universe, the one that will always remain there.

It's my favorite line in all religious scriptures I've ever read, that's for sure.

I have done some thinking and I think my views have changed quite a bit.

First off, love requires three things in my eyes.

Emontional Attraction - Being attracted to someone as a person.

Physical Attraction - Being physically attracted to said person.

Maternal Attraction - Feeling like you are with family with them.

But, this is somewhat opinionated so feel free to argue.

Love is managing a smiling when your not with her, after she tells you about the best sex with other men...

If some1 can tell me how to deal with that, it would be extremely fucking helpfull...

Oh. man. That is "too much information" time.

I presume you've already tried getting abso-fucking-lutely wasted. Not that that's a long-term remedy.

WELL, I am a debater (quite noobish though) and I just noticed this thread....ARgggghh should have paid more attention...

Love: Love is an emotional feeling which one feels towards something, anything it might be a a love of a activity for example, Tennis as quoted earlier or a intense feeling towards someone of the opposite sex/ gender (hopefully and more likely.) that is returned by the other person and in the process one would have a relationship with the other and this definition is probably what we are discussing in this topic.

*switches back to less serious form*
Love is something that should be treasured, it can be easy to come by yet hard to tackle and vice versa but one thing to take note never, ever rush into things blindly, take note of the other person's feelings and thoughts as well and think about them, one should never force another to love him/her because both must be willing in order to have a good relationship... and I wish anyone to have good luck who ventures into this.
