Japanator Top 50 Animus of of the Decade

Titles 50-41 have so far been published

50. Cromartie High School
49. Ah! My Goddess
48. Spice and Wolf
47. Big Windup
46. Baccano
45. Clannad
44. Naruto
43. Death Note
42. Mushisi
41. Black Lagoon

My comments:

Black Lagoon only 41th? Bold move Japanator, bold move...

Naruto and Death Note getting eliminated this early shows much promise

I'm a bit surprised that Clannad, Mushisi and Baccano are ranked this low. I've not seen any of them but they do get much love as far as I know...

I don't know if this list includes movies or not. I hope it does.

Some guesses for Top Ten:

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
FLCL
Monster
GitS: SAC (maybe both seasons, maybe only one)
Haruhi (first season)

What I'd like to see in Top Ten:

Macross Frontier
TTGL
FLCL

1. Haibane Renmei

But I doubt it's going to happen

If films are included Spirited Away, Girl Who Leaped Through Time and Ponyo will surely find their place in the list somewhere...

Part I Naruto is a good spot on the top 50, but Part II (Post time skip) is pretty damn awful. The Pain arc was pretty bad to read and watch. I never seen Black Lagoon, but read some of the manga and it's rather good.

as someone who only occasionally lurks on /a/ can you explain wtf happened with anons and that show? Not long ago they loved it to death, then something happened and nowadays mentioning Bakemonogatari leads to bashing and flame wars and trolls trolling trolls...

I'm sure Bakemonogatari is in there top 40 which may or may not be good thing :D

Whatever happened happened when I wasn't watching -- it was like "suddenly, gorespammer".

This is probably a good place to ask this: Is it "Ah, My Goddess" or "Oh, My Goddess"? I remember hearing that even though the former is a more "accurate" translation when the creator heard about the latter being closer to the American exclamation of "Oh my God!" he preferred it.

only reason I haven't yet watched it is because apparently SHAFT ment to animate two or so eps more and release them via their site...

they still haven't aired. What the hell are they doing in studio...

I like the way how nearly everyone is saging Naruto's "high" ranking which is most understandable but I figured such megapopular show MUST be in the Top 50 somewhere... seeing it go this early is victory for taste IMO

beats me. I took Ah! My Goddess from the piece itself as you propably saw. To me it has always been "oh".

This is weird, I always thought Goddess was 80s or 90s show... are there two AMGs?

There was an OVA in the 90s, a TV series in the 90s and a new series that started a few years ago IIRC.

I'm not complaining, but this does make me wonder what their criteria are. Black Lagoon above... well, the rest? I didn't hate the show, but damn, I'm not so sure I follow the logic so far. After all, I've only tried to watch half of the shows mentioned so far, so I don't have much room to comment.

No 1 anime of the decade = K-On.

I believe the Inuyasha anime started in the late 90's IIRC? I would like to see the 2005 Guyver anime on the list but I highy doubt it will make it.

Gonna be another terrible list no one will really care about.
Though I guess it seems interesting enough because a decade sure covers a lot of stuff.
