Which do YOU use?

Personally, I use the Japanese for refering to the Evas. I think I started after reading hte Commentary and just got used to it. I still use the Eva-xx way for the ones after Sangouki, though, simply because I can never remember them

There are far too many mecha in "unit one's" out there. Though, i understan it's context witin the show, "Unit'"s ok...

I would say Zerogouki, Shogouki, Nigouki, etc, but to the typical anime fan that would just sound stupid. Similarly, I misprounce anime (anna-may instead of ah-nee-may) simply for the fact that everyone else does. But I do avoid saying stuff like animes and mangas, because as we all know, the Japanese don't pluralize words.

Eva First Plane... after watching Selecta's edition of the series with "oxtia" dubs on.

I'm getting the sudden urge to produce an Eva fan dub and rename all of the Evas after Transformers.

I've gotten into the dirty habit of referring to the Evas by the names of their inhabitants, ie. Yui, Kyoko, ala Reichu. Saying "Rei I/Lilith Essence" gets tiring, so if "Eva" is implied in conversation, I just say 00 to cover that ground. 03 for 03, and MPs for the Evas whose seemingly popular Japanese group title I can never remember.

A friend of mine shortens the gouki forms, but "Reigou" always leads to confusion since he's a mumbler and as rabid a Sonic fan as I am.

Well, "Ryousanki" means "Mass Production Unit". (It's plastered on the Bandai model kits for the harpies.) I'm not sure where else it turns up. But since number isn't specified, of coures Ryousanki can refer to the harpies in general.

Stupidly enough, "Eva Series" (which is used to refer to the harpies in the script itself), although an English plural, is also used to refer to the harpies individually. Eewww.

"Reigou"? There ain't so "Reigouki" -- it's pronounced "Zerogouki", even outside of NGE. (The prototype Porygon coopted by Musashi and Kojiro in "Pocket Monsters" was called Zerogouki. The one Satoshi-tachi got was Shogouki.)
