What does this have to do with Eva? Not much, really. It's just that the bit at the end really reminded me of Asuka & 02, sort of (although the main character is probably closer to Rei). Did anybody else who read it get that feeling from it?

Listen to this...

and the angel came
and the beast was slain
and the doll's enchantment fell away
and the mother the real mother the true mother
who had been locked inside the doll held the girl and
begged her forgiveness and
someday
the girl would give her forgiveness
and then
the mother would sing a song
and it would be
it would be
a happy song
and the girl would be safe at last...
2:34 And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

Giant robots with angels trapped inside of them,
Teenaged pilots & an evil organization,
Doing battle with giant monsters from beyond,
Mankind's last hope lies in the Evangelions
.
