She needs help. (Who doesn't in this series?) That's why I feel for her. I want to see another character reach out to her and help her, but it never happens. So she tries to help herself, but goes about it all wrong.

Hence why she remains, in people's minds, a bitch.

Honestly, Asuka is my favorite character in the series. She desperately wants respect and to be noticed, and she aggressively goes about forcing people to give her what she wants. But in doing so, she completely destroys any chance at getting close to anyone, which is another thing she wants. Just a completely flawed character, but so perfectly done.
