^ you know, years ago I now recall hearing rumors on other forums that MJ was clandestinely writing and releasing songs using pseudonyms and front companies because he felt that after the 1993 situation the public at large could no longer accept the public image he had cultivated up to that point

though I wonder if that Sonic 3 connection could be an amusing coincidence in the vein of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz

That sort of depends on what you call a contribution. Michael Jackson's style, his songwriting, dancing, breaking cultural barriers, music videos telling stories, pretty much everything has been copied/imitated/used as a template for every pop singer/songwriter since. If there was any pop song that you have enjoyed in the last 20 years, you can probably thank Michael Jackson for that. To say he contributed nothing is fairly short-sighted.

Fox News is reporting that Billy Mays has died at 50.

I have been hooked on his show on the discovery channel since it premiered.

Billy Mays

dear God

my family and I loved to make fun of him, with his facial expressions and hand gestures

now that MJ and Mays are dead, who's left to be mocked?

You can still make fun of them, but everyone will think that you're ignorant.

It's sad whenever an emotional punching bag dies.

Nowadays people get to be famous just for being famous (and doing jack shit), so it's skewed the likelihood.

Haha! You didn't say the deaths had to be independent of each other!

The execution of the Russian Royal Family. I win.
