Random Note about Redirects. I've noticed in the wiki server logs as well on GoStats recent visitor's page on occasion that a significant number of people are entering the site on a redirect. Quick (and obvious) example:

Yahoo Search results for "Rei Ayanami" has a link to http://wiki.evageeks.org/Rei which is a redirect to http://wiki.evageeks.org/Rei_Ayanami

This isn't a problem, this is the "working as intended" stuff. However, when we do internal cleanup of pages and redirects, either a page gets moved or content gets moved and the original page is just nuked (instead of redirecting), or an old redirect is deemed obsolete, there's a good possibility that there are sites outside of evageeks that link directly to the redirects, thus lending search engine indexing bots to index via the redirect (instead of the actual article). So just keep in mind that eventhough the internal wiki links don't use a redirect, other sites outside of evageeks may be using them.

I haven't noticed (nor looked very hard) which old redirects are getting 404's, nor do I have numbers on how many people are entering the wiki through a redirect (because redirects happen internally, not through the HTTP protocol's 301/302 response code), so I don't know how big of an issue this is. There hasn't been many redirect's deleted recently, so it's probably a non-issue. Just keep in mind that when you delete a redirect, especially one that's been around for a while, you may be breaking sites that link to the wiki and this includes search engines.

Noted. A large number of redirects are for character pages, like the example you quoted, for the sake of convenience. Those redirects are the ones least likely to be deleted. However, a lot of T&A pages and the like have been moved, creating redirects to the new page names. It is these redirects that are the most likely to be broken, but I doubt many people enter the site through them.

When I deleted redirects, I was mostly in autopilot "this looks like worthless clutter, let me get rid of it..." mode. If any of them seem like they might still be "useful", they can be reinstated.
