Looks like Gainax beat Zeak to it: http://www.evageeks.org/2009/02/girlfriend-of-steel-to-be-released-on-sony-psp/

Discuss.

Personally, I'm glad. Now I can see the changes between the Special edition compared to the regular version! :boingy: (yay for having a PSP!)

PSP games are region-free, meaning they play in any PSP unit if you import the game. PSP videos however play only for the region your unit is from.

I just sold my PSP a while ago but that too bad for me. I always wanted to play the orignal GOS before though but I will end up importing the Sega Saturn game in the future soon.

The original post from Gainax:

Much more useful than Amazon.

I'm surprised they're still porting a game that's over 10 years old. I mean, does anyone really care about this game anymore?

If games like Final Fantasy 4 cameout on GBA, see why not. Fans who never play the game on the Saturn would like to play it now.

Yeah, but it's the SPECIAL edition. That isn't 10 years old.

Fixed.

So I believe we're in the seventh variant of this game now. Eighth if you include the illegal flash port.

I wish these games would come to the USA but Bandai (I believe who owns the rights to the video game series) never wants to release them outside of Japan.

NOPE.

But to be fair, from what I hear from people who have actually played them, they're mediocre at best. I like them for the images that come out of them.

GAINAX just loves that cashcow.

How is the special edition supposed to differ from the original release?

I'll buy as a collector piece (like I did with Secret of Evangelion), but it's about time that they release a new Evangelion game for PSP. Or at least, release more interesting games (I mean, not text adventures) like Detective Evangelion or Battle Orchestra.

I'm pre-ordering the limited edition version. I'll take pictures of what I can and upload it on here once I get it.

Lleonard Pler: Would you say Secret of Evangelion is a decent game (in general as well as for PSP)?
