I appreciate that Manga Entertainment placed the movie trailer at the very beginning of End of Eva on the DVD (though why they didn't bother subtitling it, I have no clue why); it feels like the ultimate front-bookend for the show.

I always wondered about the context for this trailer, and also the well-known EoE poster:



But Shinji also mentions something to the effect of "Is it alright that I'm here?" right before the scream followed by the anti-AT-field . so what's the context for that line, and does it have anything to do with this poster? I forget if exactly what he said was "koko ni ite mo, ii no?", but was the implication similar, and is the poster referencing this?[/img]

The trailer was placed in front of the movie to start with; Manga Entertainment didn't make that decision.

The poster is referencing three lines from the movie, during Shinji and Rei's conversation before the HIP proceeds as scheduled. (Only 2 and 3 are in sequential order.)

(1) Shinji: "Dakara minna shinjae." (So everyone should just die.)
(2) Rei: De wa, naze koko ni iru no?" (Then, why are you here?)
(3) Shinji: "Koko ni ite mo, ii no?" (Is it okay for me to be here?)

I myself agree...I hate Humanity..For some time I have wished something along the lines of TI to take place and leave only me and my girl friend left. She agrees with this.

And believe me, I have similar feelings about humanity: usually after an especially bad day at work (grocery retail, and for some reason, grocery stores bring out the worst in people).

It should be said that, in EoE, it isn't just humanity that dies. Every last LCL-based organism dies. Remember this before telling Rei to kill everyone.

Yeah, whether or not every species dies off is something I wondered ever since therossman's Gendo Ikari Eva FAQs said otherwise (lolololol).

moreso I'm curious why Shinji says "is it OK if I remain here?" at that point in the movie. it's obvious he isn't hearing Rei in his self-destructive monologue, so that last line before the scream seems out of place.

Why is it when I read poster that I imagine the comedy movie voice-over man saying it?

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is some good in there. Sorry if some of my words come out wrong...I'm typing this with my gf on top of me...Not to boast..Its rather annoying. She told me to tell you she hit me for that.

When I went to this Light up Night, it was all nice and stuff but so many people..argh,I wished them all to go away. I mean come on..This lady yelled at me for bumping into her.

I enjoy peace and knowing that nothing can come between me and her. I just want to walk around with out every one else here. I'm sure theres a few people I would not mind staying but other then that...No.

I do love animals though, I know Humans are animals but animals other then Humans I love.

Me, I can't stand people half of the time, they're ignorant and obnoxious. But I think I just expect more people to be like me, and I guess it's not their fault they are the way they are.

Without other people there would be no wars, no heartache, no social pressure, no greed, no embarassment, one would be free to do whatever he or she wants.

But on the other hand, we require others for food, clothing, medicine, entertainment, and protection. Imagine not being able to watch television, play video games, listen to music, or not having sex (masturbation can only go so far) all of those things require someone to operate or maintain.

We also need to have contact with other humans. Otherwise we would go insane (just look at Shinji at the end of End of Evangelion), or we would write poetry (like classic hermit Emily Dickinson).

I don't know...I used to feel like that until I watched EoE. And I suppose it is true that anywhere can be heaven as long as you have the will to live.
There's good in humanity yet.

Of course there's good. It's a matter of finding it that posses a problem.
