I am getting fed up with all this shitting on threads.

If you don't like a topic, just ignore it.

Image macros will attract the ban-hammer.

You have been warned.

I seem to think that threads begin to derail whenever a user says, "In b4 lock." Because almost every subsequent post has nothing to do with the topic and is concentrated with something like, "Thread suckz", and so on.

It becomes a kind of sideshow. First someone says "In b4 lock" or some variant thereof, and everyone cashes in. Naturally, the thread gets split or locked.

Thanks for putting this up, Tines. This "In b4 lock" trend is something we could do without.

Isn't it simple if the admins just delete the post, incase it may give influences into degeneration?

To amplify on point (a) -- between mod/admin visits, a new thread can become 3/4 "in b4 lock" or discussions about whether that sentiment is merited. This sort of behaviour is just not acceptable, and it should not need moderator intervention to point this out.

For my part, though, I am quite happy to delete posts that do not contribute, when I can sensibly cauterise such a digression. However, if it comes to having to apply harsher measures, then so be it.

so, what childishness now replaces "inb4lock" as we beat each other to a pulp across the threads of the forum whilst we wait seemingly without end for NEW news on Webuild?

Be creative. Like, maybe learn how to make these nonsense threads make sense. You'd think that would be far more fun then simply trying to kill them.

If that's the case, why don't you start threads that you can enjoy, rather than derailing ones that aren't interesting enough for you? Certainly it can't be that hard. Presuming you aren't me. :smirk:

I've seen many threads get derailed simply because a single individual states, "You know this thread is about to get locked"... and, usually, that person is not a mod or admin. Then, up to half a dozen "Inb4locks" appear. I don't even really understand the requests to have a thread locked. If you don't want to read the thread, don't. I'm selective about the threads I read and participate in.

I split out a tangent that looked like it was going along the "inb4lock" line. Keep in mind that this particular thread was created for a very valid reason, and that it will stay open for that reason. And like Rhyno says, if you don't like the thread, don't bother to post in it and don't read it. Simple.
