EM what have you done to the site :shock: .

I hate to say this but its giving me a headache looking at the screen. Could we change the colour of the fourms and you new banner to a softer colour please eg light blue or something like that.

I am starting to miss the picture of Rei already :cry: :cry: .

I am guessing that you are trying to conform your two forums that you are running.

Oh well we will just have to addaped , but please change the red colour of the forums to another colour please except green. I would say that Blue would go very nicely on the eyes

Just give it a little time, and you'll forget she was ever there.

:cry: I miss Rei. I don't mind the red and black color scheme, but for the love of god put a picture of Rei SOMEWHERE!

But she'd clash with the colour scheme. You know who would colour-coordinate with the new look.

Personally I like it. It seems to load faster on my computer.

That's part of the reason for the new look. The old version was composed of over TWO DOZEN images. While they were really compact, and optimized like no one's buisness, and only equalled ~30K added up, they still took a while to query from the server. The new design uses only two images, which make up the header. I've also simplified the forums a bit. Its my hope that I can streamline things quite a bit, and emphasize this place as an archive or resource rather than your standard fan site. Not to mention that this design is scaling, and isn't as constricting as the old one.

And those familiar with Game Sekai will notice that the two sites share the same basic design. This is a bit more difficult to explain. I do want to create a sense of familiarity between the two, and try and relate the two in my own mind. Plus, I just really like the simplicity of this layout from an awesthetic point of view.

I don't mind the colors and such, but i am not wild about the style of the header---but I guess it will grow on me. The site does seem to load faster so kudos on that one....BTW, how come the main page only has links to the commentary and forums--where are the other resources??

Diagnosis and possible fix

Postby Mr. Tines » Fri Apr 01, 2005 4:37 pm

Checking the Firefox javascript window we see

Error: document.images[imgname] has no properties
Source File: http://www.evamonkey.com/fw_menu.js Line: 716

which will be in either

moveXbyEventPos(x, imgname) or moveYbyEventPos(y, imgname)

which is called from

FW_showMenu(menu, x, y, child, imgname)

which is called with an empty imgname

window.FW_showMenu(window.fw_menu_0,-11,26,null,'');

I suspect that changing the if (menu) in

if (menu) {
x = moveXbyEventPos (x, imgname);
y = moveYbyEventPos (y, imgname);
}

to

if(menu && document.images[imgname] != null)

might serve to fix : since we aren't naming an image, we are probably trying to get one that simply isn't there.

Then lower your screen contrast, wuss. :)
The purpose of writing is to inflate weak ideas, obscure poor reasoning, and inhibit clarity. With a little practice, writing can be an intimidating and impenetrable fog!

Fixed the navigation bar. Should be good now for most browsers, including *grumble* Firefox *grumble*.

Yep, it works now. Thanks!

Still uses one heckuva lot of scripting for the menus when more than half the job can be done with CSS, cross browser, without having to sniff the client - but if someone else has gone to the effort of debugging it, you might as well use it.

True that. If I were smart enough, I'd design my own script. Functionality is more imporant at the moment.
