Emo.

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

the following is the first time I've seen different subcultures broken down into classifications by clothing, music, and behavior.

God, Apparently you all have been discussing Q since November. Catching up on the discussion is harrowing.

Hmm, people can probably guess where I fall.

Also, required listening/viewing while we're on the topic of emos.

To me, emo = teenage attention-whore who thinks their life is shitty because their high school girlfriends dumped them or their dad beats them, not realizing millions of other people go through the same thing but aren't whiny fags about it. Just man up and realize the odds are against you.

That's Reicchan, thankyouverymuch. (Subtle difference.) She's not an emo, but some females are, frighteningly enough.

i listen to Slipknot but im not anything close to Gothic.
Slipknot is considered Metal. its just a got a few "characteristics" that serparate it from average metal.

Most of the music I love, if it were created today, would probably be considered emo. That's one of the more confusing elements of "emo" to me. If I ask someone what makes music emo, I usually get the same explanation of "whiny people complaining about their problems." I love The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Everclear... I wouldn't necessarily call any of them emo, but they do almost nothing but whine and complain. Is it because they're not doing it in strained high pitches over pop-punk chords that they aren't emo?

generally, people consider sad, depressing and/or suicidal songs emo. but thats a load of shit
that would make Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Pantera...bla bla bla (ect) all emo.
