Wow... This thread is so amazingly random, it would be a shame to let it die.

Rather interesting thread...In my opinion, I think it's pretty certain that Asuka had feelings for him. If it was really love or not is up for debate. I also think that Asuka has the capacity to love Shinji given that they have a...more stable and less chaotic relationship.

I said it once and I'll say it again: Fuzzy Chickens = Troll

Fuzzy Chickens rocks.

I don't know wether she loved him or if she just felt the urge to have a guy pay attention to her as much as possible. Image

He hasn't posted here since September, but you never know, he might show up again to plague us with his famously specious reasoning, and assaults on the notion of a coherent narrative in NGE... Image_

Asuka had plently of guys drooling all over her, ready to give her all the attention she wanted. She was the center of attention at the school and she even went out on a date with a guy who was interested. What see really seems to crave throughout the series is Shinji's attention.

Neither did Kaji, but she still went after him.

He's a bishounen, so it doesn't matter.

Kaji's handsome, but he's not "pretty". Nuh-uh.

He's too manly looking to be classified as a bishie.

Bishies are now considered men/boys who you think are hot.

Actually, "bishies" can be female, too... "Bishounen" and "bishoujo" both --> "bishie".

Naw, "hot" doesn't quite cut it. Bishounen are supposed to be mystical, superhuman, androgynous creatures. Kaji is none of those things. Image

That's the old, Japanese definition of them. They really can be anything that you find attractive in men. (bishies can, but isn't really used for bishoujo.)

The word bishounen confuses me now. Image_

I used to think it meant a bisexual boy. It is a frickin confusing word.

Not really. It literally means "pretty boy".

I was going to make a stupid "bi-" joke ("so-and-so puts the 'bi' in 'bishounen'!") if the opportunity presented itself, but I'm sure it's been done before. Image
