I get that. But for the moment we have no other official "name" for it.V wrote:
NO. Philosophically it rejects Wikipedia.org's rules, and isn't a "wiki" like that. It just "happens" to coincidentally use MediaWiki software. Reichu is right on this one, and I zealously support her decision.

Any other opinions on Notebox. I'm unscrupulously holding out for suggestions before my hand is irrevocably forced.
Edit:
I'm also in the process of taking a big editor stick to the current episode pages, in particular the summaries.
My philosophy on this is that points of fairly minor note should be left to the notes, and the synopses should contain only the bar bones description of events in the episode, along with pictures of course which I intend to add. Feel free to override my probably unwise edits and pass comment where you feel it's required.

"Synopsis" is the least important part of an episode article, because presumably we've all already seen the episode. The Notes, meanwhile, are among the most important, because you might not have known some stuff; so synopsis should tend to be concised while Notes should be expanded whenever possible.

...while, hopefully, not extolling on length about stuff that should just go into some devoted article instead. For example: Sachiel's respiratory system goes in Sachiel (unless you're going to mention every one of Sachi's biological quirks in the notes); Eva-03's soul goes in Eva-03.

Pictures are probably going to have to be used sparingly in the episode summaries. More sparingly than I've use them anyway. Mediawiki is not accommodating when it comes to placing a lot of images in the text. It's very unaccommodating in fact. Everyone feel free to improve upon the episode 01 page at any time. If images are used sparingly, there is little problem, but if you want a lot, it takes a lot to get Mediawiki to behave in any way correctly.
This has implications for visual notes. We may end up having to use some kind of specialised template if we want them.

I bet it would help if we got a new skin for the site. No left navbar = more horizontal space in articles. I won't stand for anything less once I start actively dealing with those monstrous commentary tables, I know that much.
I haven't messed around with images-in-text-body much so far.

No, Reichu first off I don't think you can get rid of the nav bar, and even if you could (it would take a lot of work) it is vital for well, Navigation.

oh, skins and such are outside of my "minionistry" as they involve "Design" and such; just make sure that the essential tools in the left hand side are accessible SOMEWHERE

Phew, they got the original LD releases covered in Chronicle.
01, 02: 2/3/1996
03, 04: 3/6/1996
05, 06: 4/5/1996
07, 08: 5/2/1996
09, 10: 6/5/1996
11, 12: 7/5/1996
13, 14: 8/7/1996
15, 16: 9/5/1996
17, 18: 10/2/1996
19, 20: 12/5/1996
21, 22: 2/5/1997
23, 24: 3/5/1997
25: 8/12/1998
26: 9/9/1998
D&R + EoE: 12/23/1998
Problem with the "video release" thing is that most people won't know its significance in relation to 21' through 24' ("video release date" is effectively the same as their "air dates").

OK added those. Any info on releases for EoE and Death?
I also added the US release dates just for the hell of it (since this is an english website). I had a hard time finding reliable info on the US DVD releases, there were slightly different dates from different places. I ended up taking most of the dates from amazon.

Yeah, the last one. Though EoE is tricky, since they initially released it in a "Genesis" format that wasn't entirely the same as the theatrical release. Which release date should "count" first: the Genesis version, or the actual theatrical version?

I dunno. It would be nice to include both, and add a little something explaining it.
What exactly was the Genesis format of the release? I remember reading something about it on EML, it was on LD right?

Including both in the actual infobox might be a bit ungainly. Could theoretically put the Genesis release date (being the earlier one) in the info box and have it link to a footnote (using that new citation doodad) explaining what the deal is.
My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think what they basically did was split the movie across two LDs, so that 25 and 25' were together on one disc, and likewise with 26 and 26'. Some modifications were made to the movie itself. The ones I can remember: Asuka's "Iya" ("No") in the kitchen scene went from spoken to text on black; 25' got a Next Episode Preview involving a camera roaming through the Gainax studio; and both movies got separate sets of boring, scrolling credits. (26''s were set to a strings version of "Jesus bleibet".)
My sis has a shitty VHS bootleg of the Genesis release, which I could try pilfering at some point to catch all the differences for the Guides section. (Or as many as possible, at least.)
